The Mobile Inspector is a key member of the Manheim Mobile Inspections team, responsible for conducting on‑site vehicle condition inspections for dealer clients within an assigned territory. The role documents vehicle condition accurately, supports client trust and marketplace transparency, and grows dealer participation in mobile inspection services. Work independently with sound judgment and problem‑solving skills.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions- Vehicle Inspection & Documentation
- Conduct thorough inspections following Manheim standards.
- Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles safely on dealer lots.
- Verify VIN, mileage, sub‑series, options and enter data accurately.
- Document exterior and interior condition, including structural and mechanical components.
- Identify and record damage, missing parts, or inoperable features.
- Client Engagement & Territory Management
- Build trust with dealer clients through quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.
- Educate clients on Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection benefits.
- Proactively increase inspection volume and maintain active participation.
- Use data and insights to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Adapt to schedule changes to ensure effective coverage.
- Reporting, Tools & Collaboration
- Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.
- Utilize for reporting, lead management, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, peers, and other Manheim teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
- Safety, Compliance & Standards
- Maintain production expectations set by leadership.
- Follow all safety and health procedures and participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.
- Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
