Electrical Product Certification Field Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Product Certification Field Technician to join our team, with the role based in Colorado. This position involves working approximately 20 hours per week, planning and conducting surveillance inspections, and requires a blend of remote and on-site work.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct surveillance inspections according to scheduling requirements.
  • Prepare for visits, document findings, and plan requirements for inspections remotely.
  • Document manufacturers' production and quality processes.
  • Review required production tests, including methods, equipment, and calibration for listed products, sub-assemblies, and components.
  • Review label inventory and control.
  • Address non-compliance issues identified in previous inspections and document unresolved issues.
  • Select samples as directed.
  • Document compliance and non-compliance found during inspections and advise clients on proper resolution.
  • Complete and submit Follow-up Service Inspection Reports for each client inspected.
  • Facilitate communication between facility representatives and company personnel.
  • Maintain expenses within given guidelines.
Essential Skills
  • 5-10 years of experience in Electrical Test or Quality/Reliability Test Industry.
  • Experience in electronic/electrical testing, quality/reliability testing, engineering, electrical inspection, manufacturing, or quality control.
  • Familiarity with the 'National Electric Code' and/or product compliance requirements to nationally recognized safety standards.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting with knowledge of Quality Control methods such as ISO 9000, QS 9000, Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate with a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Strong computer skills and access to the internet, with proficiency in iPad, Zoom, Microsoft Teams.

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics/Systems Technologies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology.
  • Effective communication skills via email, phone, and in person.
  • Self-accountability in planning weekly schedules.
  • Proficiency in using smart technology such as iPad, Zoom, Teams.
Work Environment

The role involves a combination of remote work and site visits, with approximately 30 clients assigned per quarter. The workweek is Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours, with flexibility to create your own schedule. The position requires local travel within a 90-mile radius, with occasional overnight stays or long drives. A company tablet and tools are provided, with mileage reimbursement at a national rate.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
