Your role and responsibilities:
As the Senior Quality Specialist, you will have the opportunity to support the deployment of quality strategy at a global organizational level, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations, while ensuring sustainable operations. Each day, you will assist the organization in achieving the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems.
You will also showcase your expertise by collaborating with necessary functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance.
While this is a remote position, successful candidates will be in the Mebane, NC area. This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in the United States.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Participating in defining and implementing short, medium- and long-term strategy, activities, and planning to develop the quality management system, based on identified risks and opportunities, in collaboration and agreement with the members of the Quality function.
- Performing audits and/or ensuring audits are performed to assess compliance with the defined system.
- Promoting the vision of zero defect and participating in establishing mechanisms to ensure that requirements from ABB, customers, and stakeholders are fulfilled, focusing on prevention rather than only control.
- Acting as a process owner for defined quality-related processes, systems, or tools, including defining and documenting plans, implementing and communicating actions, supervising and controlling progress, and driving continuous process improvement.
Qualifications for the role:
- BS Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience (MBA is a plus).
- 10+ Years Quality Management Experience (including auditing, writing/maintaining a QMS, supervision of testers and inspectors, root cause analysis)
- Certified Lead Quality Auditor for, at a minimum, ISO 9001:2015
- Expert in ISO 9001:2015 and upcoming 2026
- Demonstrated leadership in driving change, leading cross-functional training and meetings, and leveraging strong analytical, planning, communication, and persuasive skills to achieve business objectives.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies and measures with emphasis on root cause and failure resolution for complex technical issues
- Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification preferred
- Ability to travel approximately 25% as needed.
