We are seeking a Project Supplier Quality Engineer to support Supplier Quality Management for Grid Solution Projects. Our successful candidate will work a hybrid schedule out of Orlando, FL.
This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of the supply chain supporting our technology solutions. To achieve this, the role is structured around three core areas: direct supplier performance management, comprehensive quality assurance and auditing, and strategic process improvement. This focus ensures that suppliers not only meet current quality standards but are also developed to support future business needs, and that systemic risks within the supply chain are proactively addressed.
Key interfaces (internal) are the local and global Supplier Quality Management Team, Project Procurement Manager, Project Management and Engineering Given the focus on complex problem-solving and process ownership, the ideal candidate will be a recognized subject matter expert with extensive experience in supplier quality management. They must possess deep knowledge of quality systems like ISO 9001, proficiency in root cause analysis, and strong influencing skills to manage supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Quality Assurance & Compliance Auditing
- Plan, conduct, and manage supplier audits (process, product, and system audits) to ensure compliance with Siemens Energy, industry (e.g., ISO 9001), and regulatory standards.
- Analyze audit findings, generate comprehensive reports, and manage the closure of identified non-conformities.
- Maintain and improve the supplier quality management system, including documentation, procedures, and reporting.
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams on Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) activities for new product introductions.
- Supplier Quality & Performance Management
- Manage and develop suppliers by establishing and monitoring performance metrics (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Lead the resolution of complex supplier quality issues, including non-conformances, and drive the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Act as the primary quality interface for suppliers, providing coaching and guidance on quality standards, protocols, and best practices.
- Oversee the supplier qualification, certification, and development process to build a robust and reliable supplier base.
- Representation of Supply Quality in cross-functional meetings and collaboration with Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, and Quality Management.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager in Project and engineering teams on supplier surveillance activities, including inspections.
- Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects within the supply chain to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Perform risk analysis on the supply chain and collaborate with procurement to identify and certify alternative suppliers to mitigate disruption risks.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives using structured methodologies like Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
- 5 or more years of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or manufacturing within a technology or industrial environment. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
