Responsibilities
The Senior Housing and Community Development Specialist helps expand affordable housing in Vermont by evaluating and supporting a wide range of housing developments, including multifamily rental, shelter, and specialized housing projects. Working from Vermont Housing and Conservation Board’s (VHCB) Montpelier office with some remote work possible, this position reviews funding applications, analyzes project feasibility, assesses development risk, and prepares recommendations for Board action.
You’ll work closely with developers, nonprofits, municipalities, and public partners to help move projects from proposal through construction and completion, while also monitoring budgets and supporting organizational grants. This is an opportunity to combine strong real estate, finance, and analytical skills with meaningful work that strengthens Vermont communities.
Experience in housing development, real estate finance, feasibility analysis, and/or multifamily underwriting preferred; 5+ years of combined experience preferred.
