Overview
The Manager of International Development will drive Wendy's new restaurant development across the Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) region by partnering with franchisees to support the delivery of new restaurant opening targets and strengthen long‑term market growth.
They will manage the complete development process by guiding market planning, site evaluation, and site approval submissions, while ensuring strong alignment with cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities- Deliver Development Pipeline & Approvals: Responsible for new site approvals, new store openings, and closure approvals through Wendy's International Cap Com process. Maintain a clear, organized pipeline, track milestones, and report progress regularly through Regional Team Meetings.
- Support Franchisees Across Development
Activities:
Partner with franchisees through market visits, monthly calls, and business reviews to ensure adherence to Wendy's Global Development Policies. Provide guidance to strengthen their capabilities in planning, site selection, and project management. - Lead Market Mapping & Strategic Planning: Lead market mapping and identify Potential Trade Areas (PTA) for all markets to sustain long‑term development. Collaborate with franchisees and the Development Director to build market plans and ensure pipeline alignment with Development Agreements.
- Coordinate Cross Functional Development Execution: Work closely with Construction, Design, and Operations to ensure proper restaurant planning through lease execution, design, construction, operations turnover, and opening, achieving AOP development targets.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to the position (Business, Real Estate, Finance).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate real estate environment.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; proven teamwork.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, influence and coaching skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, GIS, Oracle and other database systems.
- Regional business, real estate, or cultural experience in Latin America, including direct experience in South America.
Expected Work Location (Field): Primarily at Wendy's Restaurants or other field locations as designated by the Company. Remote work permitted when not on site. Changes subject to managerial approval and business needs.
Travel: 40%
