Development Associate
Continental Properties is looking for a Development Associate to join our Development team at our home office in Menomonee Falls, WI. You will support the Development team members across due diligence, entitlement, and permitting efforts while also building foundational real estate and project management experience along the way, with hands-on training provided. You will be essential in supporting the Development team's success through strong organization, responsiveness, and a drive to learn, with exposure to multiple teams and markets along the way.
We are embracing a hybrid working environment and you can work a combination of in the office and remote.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support due diligence efforts by coordinating consultant reports (survey, Phase I, wetlands, traffic), reviewing findings, and monitoring project budgets and invoices.
- Assist in preparing entitlement submittals and presentations, including project narratives, Power Points, code research, and coordination with consultants and municipalities.
- Coordinate neighborhood meetings and support permit review/approval submittals, including managing review comments and required applications.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, meeting agendas and minutes, and documentation to keep projects on track under the direction of the project lead.
- Support post-closing and closeout activities, including gathering diligence, approvals, and permits, and coordinating as-built surveys and FEMA follow-up.
Skills for Success:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Planning required.
- 0-1 year of experience; foundational understanding of (or eagerness to learn) the entitlement and due diligence process.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and responsiveness to support multiple projects and teams across various markets.
- Eagerness to learn and grow technical real estate development and project management skills under the mentorship of a Development Director.
