Temporary Research Associate / ScientistSUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled research associate or scientist to join our medicinal chemistry team. Experience with oligonucleotide chemistry is highly preferred. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and optimization of oligonucleotide conjugates to enable targeted delivery of nucleic acid therapeutics.
Responsibilities- Synthesis of chemically modified oligonucleotides on oligonucleotide synthesizers.
- Design, execute and optimize bioconjugation strategies for linking ASOs, siRNAs, or other oligonucleotides to antibodies, peptides and other ligands with a variety of bioconjugation chemistries.
- Purification of oligonucleotides conjugates utilizing common HPLC methodologies.
- Characterize conjugates using a variety of analytical techniques, including chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in medicinal chemistry, cell biology, and drug discovery to advance project objectives related to targeted delivery.
- Data analysis, troubleshooting, and contributing to project planning and strategy discussions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field with 2+ years of laboratory experience in bioconjugation.
- Experience in nucleoside/oligonucleotide synthesis and purification
- Experience with purification techniques (e.g., ion exchange, reverse-phase, and size-exclusion chromatography)
- Proficiency with and mechanistic understanding of common bioconjugation chemistries including SPAAC and Maleimide.
- Proficiency in common analytical techniques including HPLC and mass spectrometry.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing project needs in a fast-paced research environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams.
