Job Description
Mastar Rec is recruiting a Senior Research Scientist to support biotechnology and life sciences organizations across the United States to join our cutting-edge research team driving innovation in genomics, transcriptomics, and multi-omics data analysis.
In this role, you will lead the development of scalable computational methods, analyze next-generation sequencing (NGS) datasets, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across biotechnology, clinical research, and personalized medicine.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to novel biomedical discoveries, design advanced bioinformatics pipelines, and translate complex biological data into actionable insights that shape real-world healthcare outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement custom bioinformatics workflows for high-throughput data.
- Perform large-scale genomic and transcriptomic data analysis using Python, R, and HPC/cloud environments.
- Translate raw biological data into meaningful insights to support scientific discovery and clinical development.
- Publish findings, contribute to white papers, and collaborate on scientific publications.
- Work cross-functionally with wet lab researchers, biostatisticians, and software engineers.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging computational tools, standards, and databases in bioinformatics.
- Manage complex data integration across clinical, molecular, and multi-omic sources.
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related discipline.
- GMP / GLP / GxP experience
- Regulatory submission or validation exposure
- Experience with multi-omics data integration (e.g., proteomics, epigenomics).
- Familiarity with regulatory standards for genomic data (HIPAA).
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques for biological and genomic data.
- Contributions to open-source bioinformatics software or tools are a plus.
- Proficient with Linux/Unix systems, high-performance computing, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Strong skills in data visualization and statistical interpretation of biological datasets.
