About The Role

We are looking to expand our team of expert consultants with 15 Senior Physics Experts for part‑time, fully‑remote work supporting frontier AI research
. Projects start at $80–120 USD / hour, with top‑performing experts on our platform earning $150+ USD / hour.

• Designing expert‑level physics problems today's leading models can't solve.
• Evaluating and pressure‑testing leading AI models.

This is not tutoring, teaching, or generic annotation work.

At Aligned, we partner with the world's leading AI labs to push the frontier of AI knowledge in fields like STEM, medicine, law, and finance. Our platform matches subject‑matter experts (like you) with paid consulting work on frontier projects at these labs.

Unlike low‑skill freelance work on traditional consulting platforms, our community of experts set their own rates and are exclusively matched to the highest impact, top‑paying projects in the industry.

You are a senior physicist with extensive experience solving complex, research‑grade problems at world‑class institutions.

• Researchers at national laboratories (Los Alamos, Fermilab, Argonne, Oak Ridge, etc.)
• Scientists at leading government research institutions (NIST, NRL, AFRL, etc.)
• Faculty and researchers at leading universities (MIT, Caltech, Stanford, Princeton, etc.)
• Physicists at elite research facilities (CERN, Brookhaven, SLAC, etc.)
• Scientists at leading space/defense organizations (NASA, JPL, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc.)
• Applied physicists at top‑tier industry R&D labs and startups (Bell Labs, Commonwealth Fusion, Rigetti, IonQ, etc.)

• Fluent English reading and writing skills
• PhD in Physics or closely related field
• 5+ years of post‑graduate research or applied physics experience
• Track record at institutions recognized as leaders in your field
