Position Summary
The SRA serves as the key staff member responsible for data management and data analysis of PET imaging data obtained as part of a multicenter clinical trial. The role includes recruiting older individuals to the Berkeley Aging Cohort Study, performing neuropsychological testing, managing databases, creating simple reports, and assisting during imaging studies (MRI and PET scanning).

- Recruit older individuals to the Berkeley Aging Cohort Study and review screening questionnaires to determine enrollment eligibility; compile data into datasets suitable for analysis.
- Perform neuropsychological testing, manage databases with results, download and collate data from multiple databases, and review test results to assess substantial change; assist during imaging studies (MRI and PET scanning).
- Use existing software and modify it to extract quantitative data from various image types.
- Use standard statistical software to perform statistical hypothesis testing.
- Prepare reports in written and graphical forms.
- Collaborate with other researchers and the principal investigator to develop analysis plans and explore data.
- Familiarity with MATLAB and/or Python or other programming languages.
- Experience with statistics and statistical software such as SPSS or R.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems, especially Linux/Unix.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and good record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and reliably.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication ability.
- Experience with PET or MR or other medical images.
- Experience with human subjects research.
- Some experience working with databases.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $28.69 (Step 1) – $29.36 (Step 2). This is a non‑exempt, bi‑weekly paid position.
