JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking applicants for part-time job of greenhouse research assistant.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct field data collection in grower orchard research trials focused on fruitlet thinning and fruit color improvement.
• Monitor assigned trial sites regularly to assess treatment progress and record observations at key developmental stages.
• Collect standardized field data, including fruit set, fruitlet drop, color development, and related physiological indicators.
• Compile, organize, and enter collected data into databases or spreadsheets with accuracy and consistency.
• Perform preliminary data checks and assist with basic data summaries and analysis as needed to support research objectives.

Minimum Qualification:

• 5+ years of experience in managing tree fruit field research trials

Requirements:

• Demonstrated interest in sustainability and tree-fruit production.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to grower field sites.
• Willingness to learn and work in a dynamic outdoor environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Flexible availability

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
