Data Scientist, Research Assistant/Associate

- Program Evaluation & Research Support
- Assist with program evaluation for Med Nexus initiatives, including designing data collection tools, gathering data, managing datasets, and performing basic analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and scholarly manuscripts.
- Support dissemination efforts such as conference submissions, poster development, and research briefs.
- Maintain organized and compliant research documentation.
- Innovation, Tech Transfer & Commercialization
- Help facilitate tech transfer and commercialization sessions with faculty across disciplines.
- Assist in coordinating meetings or workshops that connect faculty innovators with industry partners.
- Support the documentation and follow‑up actions for innovation pathway projects.
- Industry Partnership Support
- Assist with research projects sponsored by or conducted in collaboration with industry partners.
- Help collect, organize, and prepare data or materials required for externally driven research efforts.
- Participate in cross‑functional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- General Support
- Attend meetings with Med Nexus leadership, staff, and partner organizations as needed.
- Provide administrative and logistical assistance on research‑related tasks.
- Perform other duties related to research and evaluation as assigned.
- Med Nexus Research Innovation Fund Support
- Assist with the management, growth, and tracking of the Med Nexus Research Innovation Fund.
- Help monitor proposal submissions, review cycles, award decisions, and project milestones.
- Maintain accurate records of funded projects, budget allocations, timelines, and reporting requirements.
- Support communications with faculty applicants and awardees, including reminders, updates, and documentation needs.
- Assist with preparing summaries, dashboards, and reports to inform Med Nexus leadership on fund progress and impact.
Required:
- Master’s or above degree in Health Sciences, Psychology, Biology, Education, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience with academic research, program evaluation, or data collection.
- Strong writing skills, including the ability to contribute to manuscripts and reports.
- Professional communication skills and comfort working with faculty and external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain organization, and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience with statistical software or qualitative analysis tools.
- Familiarity with program evaluation methods and IRB processes.
- Previous involvement in innovation, tech transfer, or commercialization initiatives.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary or applied research environments.
Part‑time position (10 to 20 hours per week; flexible scheduling). Hybrid and remote work options may be available depending on project needs. Compensation commensurate with experience.
