The Anthropic Fellows Program is designed to foster AI research and engineering talent. Fellows receive funding and mentorship to work on an empirical project aligned with our research priorities, with the goal of producing a public output such as a paper.

• Use external infrastructure such as open‑source models and public APIs to conduct empirical research.
• Conduct experiments, analyze data, and develop new methodological approaches related to the chosen workstream.
• Prepare a public output—typically a research paper—to share findings with the community.
• Collaborate with mentors and peers to iterate on research ideas and communicate progress regularly.

• Fluent in Python programming.
• Available to work full‑time on the Fellows program.
• Strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, or physics.
• Motivation to make AI safe and beneficial for society.
• Ability to work quickly, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong background in a discipline relevant to a specific Fellows workstream (e.g., economics, social sciences, or cybersecurity) is a plus.
• Experience in research or engineering areas related to the workstream is a plus.

The expected base stipend is 3,850

USD / 2,310

GBP / 4,300

CAD per week for 40 hours per week, for a duration of 4 months (with a possibility of extension).

• Program runs for 4 months, full‑time.
• Applicants must have work authorization in the US, UK, or Canada and be located in that country during the program.
• The program is not currently able to sponsor visas.
• Shared work spaces are available in London and Berkeley; remote work from the UK, US or Canada is also accommodated.

The interview process includes an initial application and reference check, technical assessments and interviews, and a research discussion. Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every qualification listed.
