* ** JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
** Penn State College of Medicine is seeking two highly motivated
** graduate student interns
** to join a vibrant group of AI scientists for a summer research experience focused on
** artificial intelligence in clinical informatics**. This internship is ideal for someone with strong analytical and technical skills who is excited to work at the intersection of
** machine learning, healthcare data, and translational clinical research**.The interns will contribute to ongoing projects at the intersection of
** artificial intelligence, healthcare data, and clinical research**, under the mentorship of
** Dr. Abedi
** and
** Dr. Vafaei Sadr** (AI faculties) and
** Dr. Zand** (Neurologist). This is an excellent opportunity for any graduate student interested in applying machine learning and data science methods to clinically meaningful problems.
** Responsibilities may include:
*** Assisting with clinical data analysis and preprocessing
* Developing and evaluating AI and machine learning models
* Supporting research in predictive modeling and translational clinical informatics
* Contributing to presentations, abstracts, or manuscripts
* Participating in team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration
*
* Preferred qualifications:

*** Current enrollment in a master’s, PhD, or MD/PhD program in computer science, data science, biomedical informatics, engineering, biostatistics, or a related field
* Experience with Python and machine learning methods
* Interest in AI applications in healthcare and clinical research
* Strong analytical and communication skills

This position is well suited for a student with a strong interdisciplinary background and an interest in advancing AI in medicine through collaborative research.
