Job Title
Senior Scientist, Analytical Projects – Device, Particle Size and XRPD
Job PurposeYou will join Analytical Projects focused on device, particle size and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD). You will design and run analytical experiments, develop methods, and interpret data to support product development and technical decisions. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams including formulation, engineering, quality, and external partners. We value clear communication, curiosity, and practical problem solving. Key Responsibilities- Develop and validate analytical methods for device characterization, particle sizing, and XRPD analysis.
- Plan and perform experiments, collect high‑quality data, and interpret results to inform project decisions.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and method challenges and propose practical, evidence‑based solutions.
- Prepare clear technical reports, maintain accurate laboratory records, and present findings to project teams.
- Support root cause investigations and cross‑functional projects to resolve technical issues.
- Mentor junior colleagues, share best practices, and contribute to continual improvement of lab workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and teamwork.
- Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, materials science, pharmaceutical sciences, or related discipline plus minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience; or Master’s degree with minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience with analytical instrumentation and data collection, such as PSD, XPRD.
- Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and performing method validation.
- Experience with data integrity, safety, and good laboratory practices.
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with device testing and characterization (e.g., inhalation devices, delivery systems, or related hardware).
- Familiarity with microscopy, surface area analysis, or related solid‑state characterization methods.
- Experience in regulated environments or working with quality systems.
- Practical knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- Prior experience mentoring or training junior team members.
This role offers a hybrid working model, with a mix of on‑site and remote work. Remote or fully home‑working arrangements are not available for this role.
