Company Description
Arctic Flame LLC is a deep-tech semiconductor IP company developing highly efficient, sovereign AI hardware. The team has created the E8 NPU, a geometric processing unit that uses advanced symmetry-aware architectures to significantly reduce power consumption and latency for temporal sequence workloads such as signal processing and long-horizon forecasting. Through a “Symmetry-as-a-Service” model and UCIe-compliant chiplet designs, Arctic Flame enables partners to integrate its accelerators into existing CPU, GPU, and TPU systems with minimal friction.
The company’s technology is backed by rigorous pre-silicon simulations, formal correctness proofs, and real-world benchmarks in domains like ECG classification and GPS timing. Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Arctic Flame collaborates with regional innovators, clinical research centers, and global silicon partners to build the mathematical foundation for sustainable, continuous-state AI.
This is a full-time, hybrid Research Assistant role based in the Greater Milwaukee area, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The Research Assistant will support experimental, computational, and documentation efforts related to Arctic Flame’s AI hardware and applied research projects. Day-to-day work may include conducting literature reviews, organizing and analyzing experimental or simulation data, assisting with laboratory setups and basic measurements, and maintaining accurate research records.
The role will also involve preparing research summaries, figures, and slide decks, supporting internal reports and potential publications or presentations. The Research Assistant will collaborate closely with researchers and engineers, coordinating tasks, communicating progress, and helping ensure research activities are performed in a safe, organized, and compliant manner.

- Solid research skills, including literature review, information synthesis, and careful documentation of methods and findings.
- Laboratory skills appropriate to a research environment (e.g., basic equipment handling, experimental setup, adherence to safety protocols).
- Data analysis abilities, such as working with spreadsheets, statistical tools, or scripting environments to clean, organize, and summarize data.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and creating concise reports or presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar) and an interest in AI, signal processing, or semiconductor technologies are beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work setting.
