Job Description andPosition Requirements
The Sweetman Lab in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management is seeking a lab assistant to help research the impact of macroplastic pollution on freshwater ecosystems in central Pennsylvania.
Duties- Designing and conducting experiments examining macroinvertebrate community establishment on macroplastic litter
- Field sampling (streams, mesocosms, sediment coring)
- Sorting field collected samples (macroinvertebrates)
- Data entry and microscope work
- Miscellaneous lab research duties
Opportunities for individual research may also arise.
QualificationsThis position requires operation of a motor vehicle. A valid U.S. driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
