The Sweetman Lab in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management is seeking a lab assistant to help research the impact of macroplastic pollution on freshwater ecosystems in central Pennsylvania.

• Designing and conducting experiments examining macroinvertebrate community establishment on macroplastic litter
• Field sampling (streams, mesocosms, sediment coring)
• Sorting field collected samples (macroinvertebrates)
• Data entry and microscope work
• Miscellaneous lab research duties

Opportunities for individual research may also arise.

This position requires operation of a motor vehicle. A valid U.S. driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
