Research Quality Specialist Material Science

8 hours per day, minimum 4‑hour overlap with PST timezone - $80 per approved task (complex tasks expected to take ~4 hours)
Turing is seeking highly analytical and research‑oriented professionals with expertise in Computational Material Science to contribute to cutting‑edge AI research projects. This short‑term remote contract is for PhD candidates and researchers passionate about scientific problem‑solving, computational modeling, semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, and advanced reasoning.
As a Research Quality Specialist, you will develop research‑grade material science problems, create computational solutions using Python, and participate in quality review processes that support the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems.
Key Responsibilities- Quantitative Problem Design & Solution Development:
Create original graduate‑level and research‑grade material science problems; develop accurate, well‑structured solutions using scientific computing and Python; categorize problems, assign difficulty levels and tags; ensure logical consistency, scientific accuracy, and high‑quality documentation. - Quality Assurance & Review:
Participate in multi‑level review processes to validate accuracy and quality; review and improve content based on feedback; collaborate with global teams to maintain high standards of research quality and consistency.
Education & Research Background
- PhD or PhD Candidate in one of the following:
Computational Material Science, Semiconductor Materials, Molecular Modeling, Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Computational Materials Science, or closely related fields. - Minimum one published peer‑reviewed research paper.
- Strong analytical thinking and scientific problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Python for scientific computing.
- Experience with computational materials science, molecular simulations, semiconductor materials, material characterization, or scientific modeling.
- Prior experience in academic research, scientific publishing, or advanced scientific problem design.
- Active Linked In profile is mandatory.
