Position Summary
Position:
Research Associate – Agricultural Economics, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Omaha, NE. Duration 2 years, start summer 2026. Seeking a graduate student or early‑career economist with strong quantitative skills for research on agricultural markets and policy.
- Work with economists on policy briefings, external presentations, and research projects related to agricultural economics and finance.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize agricultural economic data, preparing charts for presentations on agricultural and regional economic conditions.
- Oversee processes associated with collecting data through quarterly surveys of agricultural credit and lending conditions.
- Assist in developing and organizing agricultural conferences, industry meetings, and round tables.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, agricultural economics, or a closely related field with a focus on agriculture.
- Coursework or experience in economics required; coursework or experience in agricultural economics preferred.
- Proficiency in programming languages and statistical software packages such as Stata, R, Python, or Matlab.
- Strong academic record and experience with empirical research and data analysis.

Compensation and BenefitsSalary: $59,000 – 76,300 (Research AssociateI) or $70,100 – 90,800 (Research AssociateII). Final offer determined by qualifications, internal alignment, district assignment, and geography.
Work ArrangementOn-site, full-time with 5 days per month remote work flexibility.
