The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology is recruiting a Research Laboratory Technician Senior for a neurobiology lab. The Technician will work closely with the principal investigator, PhD students, and undergraduate students. Responsibilities include lab management, conducting experiments, and mentoring students. The role involves animal mouse work, muscle/brain dissection, confocal fluorescence microscopy, molecular biology, and mouse husbandry. The position is a one‑year term limited appointment, with potential renewal.
Responsibilities- 80% conduct experiments – molecular biology, biochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, tissue dissection, and mouse husbandry.
- 20% functional supervision of 1–2 undergraduate students.
- B.A. or B.S. degree in biological science, biochemistry, or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in a research laboratory with expertise in molecular and cell biology.
- Willingness to work with laboratory animals (mice), self‑motivated, and able to work as part of a team for general lab duties.
Positions eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually and may change at any time.
Additional InformationThis is a one‑year term limited appointment, with possibility of renewal for a second year depending on performance and funding.
