**** The Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies has an outstanding opportunity for Research Coordinator to join their team.**# #
** About this Opportunity
** Reporting to the Director of the UW Center for Human Rights, the Research Coordinator is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of ongoing and new research in the Center. This position will conduct literature reviews and research to include collecting, coding and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, as well as writing, editing, and reporting research findings. The position will also assist in developing and maintaining relationships with off-campus partners, supervise undergraduate and graduate students conducting research, and manage the Center’s data storage infrastructure.

The Center for Human Rights and this position is housed on the UW Seattle campus. Fully in-person work is expected for the first six months, at which time the position may be eligible for up to two days of remote work if appropriate and supported by the position manager. #
** Key Responsibilities
**** Research (55%)
*** Work with Center Director to design and implement methods of data collection and analysis
* Provide leadership for organization and execution of quantitative and qualitative data collection
* Lead quantitative data management, analysis, and reporting
* Analyze, synthesize, and report findings
** Project Management (25%)
*** Supervise student researchers involved in executing methodology
* Lead scheduling and facilitation of research team meetings, including virtual and in-person meetings
** Writing (10%)
*** Co-author briefs and reports for internal and external audiences that summarize major findings
* Co-author papers and dissemination activities, including virtual and in-person presentations
** Public Relations (10%)
*** Work with the communication team on internal and external dissemination efforts
* Attend meetings and maintain relationships with community partner organizations and advocates
* Participate in dissemination activities, including virtual and in-person presentations###
** Required Qualifications

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.###
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s Degree in a social science field
* Four years of experience in research with at least two years focused on topic(s) relevant to human rights
* ** Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Department.*
* ** Additional Qualifications
*** Demonstrated commitment to equity and justice
* Excellent multicultural communication skills
* Familiarity with social science research methodology with qualitative and quantitative analysis and coding###
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Spanish language skills
* Experience working in grassroots human rights organization or advocacy
* Familiarity with contemporary US migrant justice issues
* Familiarity with R and/or Python for basic data science tasks: summarize datasets, generate descriptive statistics, manage Git Hub repositories
* Experience using software tools to process documents and files (for example, regular expressions, command line tools, advanced text editing)
