Program OverviewThe Anthropic Fellows Program fosters AI research and engineering talent by providing funding and mentorship to promising technical talent, regardless of prior experience. Fellows will use external infrastructure to work on an empirical project aligned with our research priorities, with the goal of producing a public output such as a research paper.
What to Expect- 4 months of full‑time research
- Direct mentorship from Anthropic researchers
- Access to a shared workspace in Berkeley, California or London, UK (remote options available)
- Connection to the broader AI safety and security research community
- Weekly stipend of 3,850 USD / 2,310 GBP / 4,300 CAD plus benefits (vary by country)
- Funding for compute (~$15 k per month) and other research expenses
The process includes an application and reference check, technical assessments, interviews, and a research discussion.
CompensationBase stipend: 3,850 USD / 2,310 GBP / 4,300 CAD per week for a 40‑hour workweek over 4 months, with possible extension.

- Available to work full‑time on the Fellows program
- Optional: background relevant to a specific workstream (e.g., economics, social science, cybersecurity) and experience in related research or engineering
Applicants must have work authorization in the US, UK, or Canada and be located in that country during the program. Remote work is available for fellows in those countries. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must have or obtain full‑time work authorization independently.
