Research Assistant/Associate, Clinical Research, Research Scientist
Position Summary
As a Research Assistant with the Light Institute for Global Health and Transformation, you will gain hands‑on experience across implementation science research, public health clinical trials, and the day‑to‑day operations that keep high‑impact projects moving. This role offers a unique mix of research, field, and administrative exposure—from contributing to multiyear studies on uptake, scale‑up, adaptation, and sustainment of evidence‑based interventions to supporting grant management, logistics, and project coordination.

The role involves assisting with research studies, experiments, preparation of materials, and documentation.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Conducts research experiments and assays.
- Evaluates research results, reports findings, and discusses project outcomes with staff.
- Performs data entry and maintains research data files.
- Coordinates tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.
- Complies with safety procedures and maintains documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Coordinates research projects with other institutions and investigators.
- Participates in developing hypotheses and testing methods.
- Assists with general supply/equipment orders, lab maintenance, and cleaning.
- Performs literature research on specified topics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
Certifications/Professional Licenses: No specific certification or license required.
Work Experience: Laboratory Operations – 2 years.

Additional InformationGrade: R07‑H
Salary Range: $17.10 – $29.09 per hour.
