JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is in search of a part‑time undergraduate researcher. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) monitors streamflow in rivers across the US with different techniques. A new technique being tested records videos of the stream surface and analyzes them with computer vision techniques to quantify flow velocity and discharge. This project is developing Machine‑Learning based methods to help improve the methodology and make it faster.
Help is needed to preprocess the videos and images. The main task is to manually label the images following simple instructions.
