Summary
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, and within established policies and procedures, performs scientific investigative research in placebo studies and applied cognitive psychology. This includes participation in ongoing funded projects and mentored research. This position is contingent upon grant‑funding. - Serving as the project coordinator for current research projects, including but not limited to a study examining the efficacy of open label placebos for pain relief.
- Assisting Principal Investigators in the department with grant‑writing.
- Assisting with manuscript writing and preparation as a co‑author.
- Pursuing independent research if desired and opportunities arise.
- A doctorate degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Sc.D.) upon start date is preferred, though an applicant in the All But Dissertation (ABD) phase will be considered. The doctorate degree should be in psychology, public health, epidemiology, cognitive science, or a related field.
- Experience writing manuscripts. A strong publication record is preferred.
- Experience managing research projects.
- Experience with grant writing is preferred.
- Experience with in‑person data collection in psychological studies is preferred.
- Experience with research in placebo studies is preferred.
Minimum 2 years’ research experience in a related discipline. Must be at the ABD stage at minimum.
Work Environment andPhysical Requirements
Opportunities for remote work can be considered. Sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to use computer keyboard and other common lab and office equipment.
Independent ActionPerforms independently within department policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to supervisor where clarification of departmental policies and procedures may be required.
Supervisory ResponsibilityAbility to train and work with volunteers and students on projects.
Pay Range$58,489.60-$96,491.20
