POSITION SPECIFICS
This is a postdoctoral position in superconducting hybrid devices involving superconductors with graphene and topological thin film materials within the Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University.
Responsibilities: Lead thin film synthesis, device fabrication, and transport measurements of devices that incorporate superconductors interfaced with graphene, topological materials, and other two-dimensional systems. Perform fabrication of superconducting thin films using a HPCVD process, nanofabrication, and low temperature as well as high magnetic field measurements. Provide expertise in topological superconductivity, quantum materials, and superconducting devices.
QUALIFICATIONSRequired:
Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, or Device Physics. Strong background in epitaxial growth of thin films using CVD and related techniques is preferred. Additional experience in pulsed‑laser deposition, sputtering deposition, photo‑ and electron beam lithography, and low‑temperature superconductivity and transport measurements is appreciated.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and statement of research interests electronically. Three reference letters must be sent directly to physics apply with the appropriate job number in the subject line.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCESEmployment with the University requires successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
