Archaeology Technician (Archaeology Technician II)

Sacramento, CA (California Cultural Resources Team). Remote work may be required.

• Support project staff across various tasks.
• Perform field-based tasks including pedestrian survey, test excavation, and data recovery. Collect data on web-based applications and maintain field notes and photographs.
• Assist with field form completion, data entry, and preparation of site records. May involve artifact cataloging and analysis.
• Collect and enter data while applying technical principles and theories under supervision.

• High school graduate with 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience in archaeological fieldwork throughout California.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with a variety of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring.
• Completion of an archaeological field school highly desired.
• Experience with geospatial technology including GPS and GIS.
• Computer proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Hourly rate: $28 – $35. Rate based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
