This position is funded for 1 year. Continuation beyond 1 year will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
The CLS is an interdisciplinary group of linguists, psycholinguists, applied linguists, speech‑language pathologists, speech scientists, and cognitive neuroscientists who share an interest in linguistics, language acquisition, and bilingualism.
CLS researchers employ a variety of methods including behavioral measures, eye tracking, electrophysiological methods (EEG/ERP), and fMRI.
Responsibilities- Assist CLS faculty research by recruiting and testing participants and performing data processing and analysis.
- Manage laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, research supplies, and participant scheduling.
- Provide technical support for students and faculty.
- Provide general support for the CLS, including promotion and knowledge sharing of ongoing research and studies, and coordinate multiple researchers’ schedules.
- Assist with public engagement activities (e.g., creating materials and delivering workshops and activities).
- Recruit and train undergraduate research assistants.
- Allocate time for professional development activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Training and experience with at least one research‑related technical method (e.g., eye tracking, EEG/ERP, acoustic analysis in Praat).
- Previous hands‑on research experience in language science.
- Additional training will be provided for technical methods and for conducting research with human participants.
Associate Degree. No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required certifications:
None.

Salary & BenefitsThe salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $31,600.00 – $45,800.00.
