Position: RESEARCH ASST I (TEMP)

Job Description

Performs routine research experiments and procedures under the direction of principal investigator, supervisor or other designee. May assist with planning specific research protocols and procedures, including coordination of schedules of tests and procedures. Performs calculations and maintains appropriate log and lab notebooks, with attention to completeness and accuracy. Records results, organizes data and maintains lab notebook in an organized manner. Compiles and helps analyze data, prepares charts, graphs, and results of studies as directed.

Performs tasks that require familiarity with fundamental techniques and lab equipment. Maintains office, lab area, solutions, reagents, supplies and equipment, disposes of specimens, media and other materials (using appropriate procedures). Attends seminars and presents data in group lab meetings to expand knowledge of research and laboratory techniques. Conducts literary searches as directed.

Required Qualifications *
  • Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare or research.
  • Basic understanding of medical or scientific terminology from coursework or extracurricular activities.
Desired Qualifications*
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software.
  • Good communication skills; able to follow instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and participating in research activities.
