Ecotoxicologist Expert

Tetra Tech is adding an Ecotoxicologist Expert to our team. This position is open for remote work within the United States.

We are in search of a part-time team member to join our team of scientists with an extensive background in ecotoxicology and risk assessment. You will work as needed on projects requiring independent scientific research, literature review, peer review of reports, and advisory services.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide peer review of scientific reports and studies involving monitoring, lab analysis, data interpretation and risk assessment.
  • Conduct thorough scientific literature searches related to ecotoxicology and risk assessment.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments of chemicals for human health.
  • Conduct toxicity assessments, including calculation of margins of exposure for exposure pathways.
  • Provide expert advice related to scientific studies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in aquatic toxicology, bioassays, ecological and human health risk assessments, and aquatic ecology.
  • Ability to work independently and conduct critical reviews of scientific documents.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • PhD degree in ecology, biology, toxicology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience reviewing and evaluating technical reports and literature.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a workstation and use a computer for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours/day). Additional hours may be required based on project needs.
  • Manual dexterity to use a computer mouse, keyboard, and other tools.
  • Visual acuity to read and interpret detailed drawings and technical documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in-person and via electronic means.
