Position: Research Lab Tech All levels

Research Technician Associate

The Truttmann is looking to hire a Research Technician Associate. The lab is focused on the development and assessment of novel enzyme inhibitors. The successful candidate will work alongside senior laboratory members, participating in basic molecular biology experiments and assisting with streamlining workflows in the laboratory. Familiarity with cell-based work, in vitro biochemistry assays, small molecule work, and mouse handling are a desired skill set.

We strongly encourage candidates with diverse skill sets in molecular biology and related fields to apply. Multiple candidates may be considered for this position depending on aptitude and skill set. While there will be a great degree of independence encouraged in this space, we are seeking candidates who work well within a team.

Preference will be given to candidates who seek more than one year of commitment.

Responsibilities*
  • Conduct and interpret basic molecular biology experiments
  • Assist others with experiments
  • Coordinate and communicate with team members on multi-participant longitudinal experiments
  • Identify and communicate experimental design flaws
  • Self-recognize and criticize your own technical failures and work with others to develop and optimize your technical skill set
  • Meticulous documentation of protocols
  • Prepare and organize data for presentations and publication
  • Present data at group meetings
  • Contribute creatively to research aims in the lab
  • Train new lab members in equipment operation and standard techniques
  • Additional duties as needed and as proficiencies are acquired
Required Qualifications *
  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or related field
  • Critical thinking skills, including realistic self-evaluation
  • Reliable schedule
  • Work well in a team
  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience (can include classroom experience)
  • 1+ years of commitment to the position
Desired Qualifications*
  • Previous experience with in vitro small molecule testing
  • Previous employment in a laboratory setting
