Research Engineer

Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world's top universities. The University has around 46,000 students and 8,500 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain, and improve our world and the human condition.

The Humanities Lab needs to recruit a research engineer with a background in computer vision and machine learning to support hardware installation and the development of analysis tools for mobile eye tracking.

The Humanities Lab is based at the Faculties of Humanities and Theology (HT), and its physical premises, including offices and experimental studios, are located on the HT campus at the Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL) and the LUX building. The lab has around 20–25 employees and is an international environment with multiple visiting researchers each semester. We hold weekly meetings where all staff contribute items to the agenda.

As a Swedish government agency, Lund University offers attractive employment terms, generous vacation benefits, favourable pension schemes. We also have possibilities for flextime and remote-work agreements, which create good conditions for maintaining a healthy work–life balance.

  • Good communication skills in Swedish or English, both spoken and written

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You are expected to take responsibility for your tasks and to work in a structured and careful manner. You should be able to collaborate with colleagues at different levels.

Further desirable qualifications are:

  • Being the lead author of scientific publications
  • Experience working in a multi-user lab
