Job DescriptionResponsibilities: The Research Scientist I will work as part of a team of public health professionals and will contribute to research tasks related to the surveillance of occupational injuries, illnesses and prevention. The role will involve formatting and organizing data sets, developing statistical summaries and interpreting and producing routine research results, including the development of charts, tables, and graphs. The incumbent will also contribute to the development and dissemination of research findings and data with relevant stakeholders.
The position will use occupational health surveillance system data to contribute toward the identification of work‑related risk factors and outcomes to monitor and evaluate the effects of risk exposure. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to exposure investigations to identify and reduce health risks.
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics or a related field and two years of research experience; OR a master's degree in a related field and one year of research experience.
Preferred QualificationsA Master's degree in Epidemiology or Statistics. Experience conducting epidemiological research, data analysis, report writing and dissemination of data for varied audiences. Experience in SAS. Working knowledge of public health as well as occupational health surveillance and research.
Conditions of EmploymentGrant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.

Travel up to 10% of the time will be required.
The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states:
New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
