MNBI aims to integrate data on micronutrient status, inflammation, and infection across multiple countries, leveraging existing platforms, local laboratory capacity, and country-owned surveillance systems.

MNBI is supported by a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) and three Technical Working Groups (Data and Epidemiology; Systems; Laboratory). The SAB secretariat is housed at Makerere University in Uganda, and Emory University plays a central role in data harmonization, analysis, and methodological oversight, working closely with Makerere University and country teams.

  • Adapt and extend existing BRINDA data architecture (including data dictionaries, file structures, and analytic conventions) to MNBI datasets, including migration to a new data environment housed at the Task Force for Global Health.
  • Collaborate closely with MNBI Secretariat, country teams, and SAB members to support analytic plans, reporting, and publications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, and three years of experience in processes and standards related to data, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with relational database management systems such as, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science, informatics, or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in SAS or R. Experience managing and analyzing complex, multi-country public health datasets, macros to process and output readable tables and graphics.
