Job Summary
A research technician position is available to study the role of epithelial cells during lung injury and fibrosis. The work involves transgenic mouse models, cell culture and various molecular assays.
Responsibilities- Cell isolation and culture (human and mouse, primary and cell lines)
- Biochemical assays (PCR, qPCR, immunoblot, flow cytometry, etc)
- Transgenic mouse procedures/surgeries
- General lab maintenance (ordering supplies, preparing stock solutions, dish washing, data organization, maintaining a lab notebook)
- Intellectual contribution: generate hypotheses, interpret data, create graphs, critically appraise literature
- Participate in weekly lab meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Previous mouse handling/dissection experience is preferred, but willingness to learn and perform mouse experiments required.
- Good organizational and communication skills. Highly motivated, self‑directed, intelligent, meticulous and hardworking.
- Minimum: HS Diploma or Associate degree with at least 0–1 year experience (associate). Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Advanced: 1–2 years experience with basic laboratory techniques and several common biochemical assays (PCR, qPCR, immunoblot, tissue culture, etc). Bachelor’s degree in biological or related sciences preferred.

Position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on qualifications. This is a term‑limited appointment of one year. Background screening and pre‑employment drug testing will be conducted as required.
