Job Description and Duties

Anticipated Interview Dates: We anticipate holding in-person interviews beginning the week of July 7, 2025.

Telework Information: Act quickly to apply for this hybrid position, where you’ll enjoy up to 40% (two days) remote work, each week! This position will run until filled with the following cutoff dates for review: 5/30/25, 6/13/25, 6/27/25, and every two weeks until filled.

The Policy Research & Data Analytics Division (PRDA), Enterprise Data Insight Section (EDIS) is currently seeking a Research Data Specialist I (RDS I). PRDA provides policy, data, and process improvement insights to inform retirement-related issues and business decisions. PRDA employs research data techniques to assess the impact of potential retirement policy changes and sustainability of benefits and services, and continuously improve business processes.

Under the general direction of the Research Data Supervisor II, EDIS, the RDS I is responsible for independently designing and leading research projects and assignments. The RDS I has intermediate knowledge of and experience using a variety of research methods and techniques, analytical methods and techniques, statistical methods used in data analysis and projections, and tools to develop and conduct comprehensive research.

The RDS I exercises a high degree of independence, initiative, flexibility, and tact in performing the duties listed.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis skills sufficient to perform the duties described in the duty statement.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of research methods, techniques, application of computerized models to research data; statistical and other methods used in the analysis and projection of data; survey methods and analytical techniques, and operations research methods.
  • Knowledge of computer and statistical programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; SAS; etc. for data analysis, report writing, and slide presentations.
  • Ability to compose clear and concise reports summarizing research findings and to make recommendations.
