AI Research Intern

Overview

Leidos is seeking a motivated intern to support our work in Artificial Intelligence research. The position will be based out of our Arlington, VA office or San Diego, CA, with remote work also available.

This candidate will work with other researchers and engineers on research projects focused on developing innovative AI solutions. Tasks include adapting and extending AI technologies to new applications, developing prototypes, drafting research papers, and supporting existing cyber programs. The intern must be intellectually adaptive, inquisitive, communicative, self‑starter, problem‑solver, and self‑managed when necessary, and will be responsible for developing, defending, executing, and presenting the results of a research plan.

• At the direction of the project lead, analyze and assess internal projects and artifacts as part of developing innovative AI solutions.
• Support analysis and interpretation of experimental results by senior researchers and decision makers.
• Communicate plans and results effectively through written status reports and presentations.

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Has experience with programming languages such as Java, Scala, C/C++, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• Coursework in artificial intelligence and/or machine learning.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• US citizenship required.

• Hands‑on experience working with AI technologies.
• Demonstrable experience and curiosity in AI.
