The Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking applicants for part-time job of research assistant.

• focusing on the synthesis and fabrication of high-entropy transition-metal ceramics
• creating ultra-hard materials through coherent spinodal decomposition
• synthesis and fabrication of experimental samples which may include powder-processed and Field-Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) to consolidate and tailor unique formulations

• experience with various analytical characterization tools including scanning electron microscopy, TEM, EDS and hardness testing
• experience with designing experiments
• experience with report preparation
• oral and written communication skills

The starting rate for this job is $33.64/hr.
