Part-Time Research Support - Walker Lab

Job Description

The Metabolism in Lactation (MiLac) laboratory of Dr. Rachel Walker in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Penn State is seeking part‑time research assistants to support projects related to human lactation and metabolism. This position will primarily support research activities for an NIH‑funded grant investigating biological mechanisms leading to low milk production in mothers of preterm infants.

• Organizing samples for analysis
• General lab maintenance
• Completing biochemical assays
• Developing and testing laboratory protocols
• Analyzing data
• Assisting preparation of posters, presentations, or manuscripts

• Undergraduate students with laboratory experience from research or coursework
• Undergraduate students majoring in Nutritional Sciences or willing to enroll in at least one introductory nutrition course
• Individuals with a willingness to learn, curiosity, and ability to work independently
