Postdoctoral Fellow of Physics (Nuclear & Hadronic Theory)

The Department of Physics at William & Mary invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position, expected to begin August 1st or soon after. We seek an individual with expertise in lattice QCD or other hadron spectroscopy approaches to join the Nuclear and Hadronic Theory Group led by Prof. Jozef Dudek. The successful candidate will collaborate with the local group and with scientists in the Theory Center at Jefferson Lab.

Applicants should have experience in lattice QCD or related techniques and a desire to solve problems related to the hadron spectrum using lattice QCD. The appointed researcher will work on projects within the Hadron Spectrum Collaboration under the supervision of Prof. Dudek.

The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of a second year based on performance and funding availability.

• A Ph.D. in Physics, or related field, at the time of appointment (in August 2026).

• Research experience in lattice QCD and/or hadron spectroscopy, evidenced through journal publications.

Up to $70,000, commensurate with experience and internal alignment.

Grade: S99. Position duration: 12 months with possibility of extension. Eligibility:
Fixed term with end date.
