Pay Range

$60,450

Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description

The Sukenik lab is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to lead efforts linking ensemble structure to function in intrinsically disordered proteins. The work will involve the development of new, high-throughput experimental methods to profile structure and function of disordered proteins in pooled experiments.

A Ph.D. in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Molecular/Cell biology or closely related field is required. Prior publication record in computational protein biophysics is required.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU , Local 200

United.

Job Specific Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biophysics, molecular biology, or similar fields. Expertise includes but is not limited to to protein expression and purification, cell and tissue culture, cloning, and next-gen sequencing. A good candidate should also have strong verbal and written communication skills, be a strong and collegial team player, embrace open science policies including preprint publications, and be enthusiastic about learning new skills and methods.
