What Your Job Will Be LikeSandia National Laboratories is seeking a Business & Competitive Intelligence Professional to support the development of future business, programs, and science and technology investments by evaluating opportunities related to current and future partners and sponsors, assessing markets and research environments, anticipating changes, providing reliable and actionable analyses, and making strategic inputs to assist leadership.
Responsibilities- Develops analyses and presents research results on sponsors, mission partners, national security customers, international and global security trends, technology sectors, competitors, markets, and comparative R&D environments.
- Works with leadership to identify gaps and define potential opportunities based on emerging trends and the environmental landscape.
- Develops accurate and timely intelligence on R&D environments, including key trends and strategic drivers; future directions; sponsor priorities; funding profiles; technology adoption; and other organizations R&D strategies, investments, and partnering activities.
- Performs work onsite as required to access classified systems, collaborate with mission teams, support customer requirements, and contribute to sensitive or classified program activities.
- Conducts comparative analyses and market research to support business development and tech transfer activities in national and global security markets.
- Maintains awareness of relevant national security, global security, R&D, policy, budget, industrial base, and technology‑sector developments that may affect Sandia's programs and mission objectives.
$74,700 - $144,400
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, International Affairs, National Security, Global Security, Public Policy, Political Science, Engineering, Science, Research, or a relevant discipline plus two or more years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in a relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to work with organizational leadership, and deliver recommendations that lead to action.
- Ability to work onsite in support of classified, sensitive, and mission‑critical national security work.
- Experience applying business intelligence, competitive intelligence, market research, strategic analysis, national security analysis, due diligence, or related analytical methods to support decision‑making.
- Experience with qualitative (e.g. interviewing) and quantitative (e.g. statistical packages) research methods.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
