ABOUT BELL WEATHER

Bell weather is a creative agency for legacy brands: the nonprofits, cultural institutions, healthcare systems, and government organizations that are part of people’s lives. We’ve spent a decade helping these organizations find what makes them matter and bringing it to life through immersive research, artistic collaboration, and creative work that doesn’t look or feel like anyone else’s.

Our clients include Brooklyn Public Library, Metro Plus Health , Museum Hue, NYC Votes, and Visit Baltimore, among others. We're a certified woman-owned business and a Webby Award–winning agency.

Our work starts with immersive research and deep listening. We spend time in communities, collaborating with artists, poets, photographers, and filmmakers to find what makes an organization extraordinary. From there, we build strategic platforms and brand identities that our clients can own and carry forward long after the engagement ends.

ABOUT THE NAME

Our name combines "bellwether" (a leading indicator) and "weather" (constant change). We help organizations find what makes them extraordinary and give it a platform that lasts.

HOW WE WORK

Bell weather is a fully remote company. Our team is distributed across the U.S., with most of our collaboration happening in Eastern time. We've built our workflows, meetings, and creative process around remote work from the start.

THE ROLE

Bell weather's in-house strategy team runs the qualitative and quantitative research that shapes our clients' brand and creative work, from public-health-informed interviews and focus groups to large-scale surveys. The Research & Strategy Coordinator supports the Head of Strategy in planning and running these studies day-to-day, keeping projects organized and moving from initial outreach to final findings.

Day-to-day, this person schedules and coordinates interviews and focus groups, manages data collection and recruitment, and keeps research files, transcripts, and survey data organized. They also help build the studies themselves — drafting surveys and interview scripts, coding and analyzing qualitative transcripts, and supporting the data analysis and visualization that inform strategy and creative presentations.

This role works closely with the Director of Research and collaborates with project managers, external quantitative research partners, and the wider strategy and creative teams. Within the first six months, success looks like independently running the logistics of a research study and contributing substantive analysis and synthesis to the findings presented to clients.

  • Coordinate with project managers and participants to schedule interviews and focus groups
  • Coordinate with external quantitative research partners, including uploading and managing surveys
  • Manage data collection and recruitment for research studies

  • Code and analyze qualitative transcripts
  • Contribute to data analysis and report writing across primary and secondary research studies
  • Contribute to website analytics reports in collaboration with the Digital team
  • Conduct peer and competitor audits for client projects
  • Synthesize client-provided documents with primary and/or secondary research to assist with company, consumer, and culture assessments
  • Attend and participate in internal agency and external client meetings
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum BA/BS in psychology, sociology, anthropology, marketing, communication, public health, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a role emphasizing research, writing, and/or analysis

  • Experience with scheduling and coordination as well as data collection and management
