Pay Range: $62,400 - $68,000

Job Description:
The Syracuse University Experimental Gravitational-Wave group is soliciting applications for a postdoctoral researcher position for research on technology for current and future gravitational-wave detectors. The successful candidate will work on designing and building and testing quantum noise reduction schemes for future gravitational wave detectors. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desired: optics, electronics, quantum optics, interferometer control and simulation.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or a related field. The position involves both research and advising graduate students in the group. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility for renewal. Qualified candidates should submit their cover letter, curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a short description of their research interests, and the e-mail addresses/phone numbers of three references to the online position posting.
Qualifications:
PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
Responsibilities:
Conduct independent research in the lab and mentor graduate students in the Syracuse University Gravitational-Wave Group.
