An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced medical professional to join a neuroscience‑focused team as an Associate Medical Director, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone motivated by advancing patient care through innovation and scientific excellence.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Clinical Leadership
  • Lead and shape clinical development strategies for assigned compounds, considering scientific, medical, regulatory, and commercial factors.
  • Contribute to complex decision‑making within cross‑functional, international teams.
  • Integrate insights from multiple disciplines to guide clinical programmes toward regulatory approval.
  • Influence broader strategic direction through engagement with senior leadership.
Clinical Development & Execution
  • Participate in or co‑lead clinical and study teams, ensuring alignment with global development plans.
  • Contribute to key deliverables such as development strategies, protocols, and study designs.
  • Continuously evaluate programme progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Analyse ongoing study data and recommend critical decisions, including programme continuation or modification.
Study Design & Interpretation
  • Oversee development of study protocols and ensure scientific rigour in execution.
  • Provide guidance to team members and ensure high‑quality interpretation of clinical results.
  • Present findings to leadership and assess implications for overall programme strategy.
Medical Monitoring & Safety
  • Monitor patient safety and study conduct throughout clinical trials.
  • Collaborate with safety teams to evaluate risk profiles.
  • Ensure scientific integrity in all study‑related decisions.
External Engagement
  • Build and manage relationships with external experts and stakeholders.
  • Lead discussions and represent the organisation in scientific and regulatory interactions.
  • Incorporate external insights into development strategies where appropriate.
Business Development & Partnerships
  • Evaluate potential collaborations, acquisitions, or licensing opportunities.
  • Conduct due diligence on clinical and scientific viability.
  • Support negotiation and execution of partnership agreements.
  • Maintain productive relationships with external partners.
  • Contribute expertise to internal initiatives and cross‑functional teams.
  • Provide mentorship and support team development.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the therapeutic area.
Candidate Profile Education & Experience
  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent), with additional research qualifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical research within industry, academia, or related settings.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams is advantageous.
  • Background in early‑phase clinical trials is desirable.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across global, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Influencing and stakeholder management capabilities.
Knowledge Areas
  • Expertise in neurology or related therapeutic areas is preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and clinical research standards (e.g., GCP, ICH).
  • Specialised knowledge in neurological disorders is an advantage.
Additional Information
  • This is a hybrid role combining office and remote work.
  • Travel (including international) may be required, estimated at 10–20%.
