RESEARCH ASST I - Computer Science (Student/Work Study)

The student will work on a one of three research projects with the Primary Investigator (PI)

  • a) computing education
  • b) civic literacy in the era of social media
  • c) dataset search.
Responsibilities*
  • Meet with the faculty supervisor as well as other team members regularly (around once a week)
  • Do appropriate activities for the research project, including:
    • implementation of agreed upon ideas
    • coming up with new ideas
    • conducting literature review
    • preparing articles and presentations
    • discussions with others outside the project team as agreed upon to advance the project goals.
Required Qualifications *
  • An undergraduate student in computing or related field
  • At least sophomore standing or higher
Desired Qualifications*
  • Interested in scientific research
  • Good oral and written communication skills
Modes of Work

Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
