Role Overview

Are you passionate about sustainability, agriculture, and making a global impact? ABS Global, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Intern to support our newly created Sustainability function. This position is located in De Forest, WI or Remote (US-based). The Sustainability Intern will work closely with the ABS Sustainability and Marketing teams to develop materials that tell the story of the role of livestock production and genetic improvement in sustainably feeding the world.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, curious, and collaborative, with strong communication skills.

This is a summer internship requiring availability for 12 weeks, 40 hours/week. Flexible hours may be required to accommodate global collaboration. This is a hybrid role, office based with remote work opportunities available for U.S.

-based candidates.

The hourly compensation range for this position is $18 - $22 USD. The compensation provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

You Will
  • Conduct online research to create a repository of background information on key sustainability topics in livestock production.
  • Develop fact sheets for internal stakeholders on environmental impact, human nutrition, rural economies, and culture.
  • Build impactful presentations to communicate ABS’ sustainability message.
  • Evaluate and organize sustainability attitudes and messaging from ABS markets globally.
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability Marketing team to support content creation and identify effective communication channels.
  • Uphold the Genus core values, mission, and vision.
  • Be flexible with work responsibilities, which may occasionally fall outside normal business hours.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • Current undergraduate or MS student in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Science, Climate Science, Sustainability, Food Systems, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Available for 12 weeks during the summer.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in sustainability, conservation, or food systems.
  • Experience conducting independent research and building presentations.
  • Background in agriculture or understanding of cattle production (a plus, not required).
  • Effective communication and strong attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented and adaptable.
  • Fluent in English.
