TPA is a small business Contract Research Organization (CRO) founded, owned, and operated by a dedicated team that has successfully delivered on‑site research pathology performance in support of the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) program for more than 40 years.

The NCTR is the only FDA Center located outside the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The one‑million square foot research campus in Jefferson, Arkansas plays a critical role in the missions of the FDA and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to promote and protect public health.

Regulatory science researchers, inter‑agency investigators, and researchers representing private business, academia, and other regulatory entities from around the world investigate, learn, and train on‑site at the center.

TPA provides integral collaborative toxicologic pathology research services on a contract basis involving the necropsy, preparation and examination of tissues from standard toxicology studies as well as a wide variety of specialized, state‑of‑the‑art pathology technologies geared to meet specific FDA/NCTR investigative objectives.

TPA is seeking candidates for a Research Service Manager position. The position provides cross laboratory coordination and operational oversight of research activities, including study planning and scheduling, allocation of laboratory resources, equipment and supply needs, procurement activities, laboratory documentation, and coordination of tissue preparation and specialized testing.

The selected candidate will work in collaboration with the Molecular Pathology Manager to apply established methods of molecular pathology to identify, locate, and quantify target molecules of interest in a variety of cells, tissues or organoids, will adapt available methods to new applications or will develop new methods. The laboratory methods will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing specialized research services, with emphasis in molecular pathology, including but not limited to immunohistochemistry (IHC), chromogenic and fluorescent in situ hybridization (ISH), TUNEL and cell proliferation assays, image analysis, and other molecular and histopathology based applications.

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline is required.
• Advanced education, specialized training, or equivalent relevant experience is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating complex research activities, multiple concurrent studies, laboratory schedules, or projects in biomedical research, molecular pathology, molecular biology, histopathology, or a related scientific laboratory environment is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of molecular pathology and related research techniques, including immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, TUNEL, cell proliferation assays, image analysis, and/or other tissue based, or molecular methodologies is preferred.
• Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills are required.
