Computational Ocean Scientist

We are looking to expand our team of expert consultants with 10 PhD Ocean Scientists for part-time, fully remote work supporting frontier AI research. Projects pay $60-100 USD per hour
, with higher rates for experts with extensive publication records and tenure at leading institutions.

This role includes stress-testing leading AI models on research-level ocean science problems, creating and verifying complex questions and explanations in your area of expertise, and assessing whether AI-generated reasoning meets the standards of a trained ocean scientist.

• Fluent English reading and writing skills
• PhD in Oceanography, Ocean Science, Marine Science, or a closely related field
• Hands-on experience in computational modeling, simulation, or large-scale data analysis

• Faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and research scientists in university oceanography and marine science departments
• Scientists at research institutions such as Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, or equivalent marine research centers
• Scientists at government agencies such as NOAA, NASA, or national ocean and fisheries agencies
• Industry scientists applying ocean modeling in offshore energy, marine engineering, shipping, aquaculture, or climate risk analytics
